The Friends of the Library Chapters, in partnership with the library, provide a popular service to the citizens. The Friends resell donated books at rock bottom prices and then use the funds to support library programs.
This joint service benefits everyone by providing books at affordable prices, promoting reading, and funding informative and enjoyable programs for all ages.
Most libraries have either a bookstore or book sale area operated by a local
Friends chapter. Self-serve payment drop boxes at many locations make shopping
possible at all times when the library is open. The Carousel Bookstore at the
Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library and the Bargain Street Bookstore at the Town
’Country Regional Library are staffed by volunteers. Please call the Library at
at 273-3652 to verify these bookstores’ daily schedule.
The next time you visit your library, take a few minutes to shop with the Friends.
You never know what treasures await you. You may find great bargains while
assisting the Friends with increasing library programs.
