Do you write short stories? Want to win some great prizes? Enter our third annual Teenz Ink short story writing contest and try your best to impress our judges!
Story Contest and Judging:
- Open to Hillsborough County teens in grades 6-12.
- A panel of judges will determine contest winners and reserve the right not to select winner(s) should there be insufficient or non-qualifying entries. The decision of the judges is final.
- Prizes will be awarded to a winner and a runner-up in two categories: Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12). Grand prize is a $100 gift card and the runner-up prize is a $50 gift card.
Submission Guidelines:
- Only one entry per person may be submitted.
- The short story must be 500-1000 words (approximately 2-4 typed and double-spaced pages). Please include page numbers.
- Entries must include the Official Entry Form. Please do not include any identifying information on the story.
- Please keep a copy of your story; entries will not be returned.
- Entries with offensive content - explicit violence, sexuality, language or material considered offensive to any religious or ethnic groups, gender or physically or mentally challenged persons - will be disqualified.
- Family members of Library employees are not eligible.
- The contest runs from Oct 12, 2008 - Nov. 15, 2008. Deadline for entries is Saturday, November 15, 2008. Winners will be notified by Jan. 9, 2009.
