Books-By-Mail

Homebound residents of Hillsborough County may be eligible for the library's Books-by-Mail service. Managed by staff in the Popular Library at the John F. Germany Public Library, the service provides book selection and home delivery of materials to program participants.

Every four weeks Books-by-Mail customers receive a set number of staff-selected books. When applicants are enrolled in the service, they establish their reading interests and specify format preferences (large print, paperback, etc.). Library staff uses a special computer program to aid in selecting specific titles that match customers' profiles and to track their reading history. Customers also may call at any time to place special requests for specific titles. Those items will be sent in the next delivery cycle, when available.
