Burgert Brothers Photographic Collection is a unique pictorial record of the commercial, residential and social growth of Tampa Bay and Florida's West coast from the late 1800s to the early 1960s. Nearly 15,000 images in this collection chronicle the history of the Tampa Bay area as it faced wars, natural disasters, economic booms and busts. This extraordinary archive - a visual link with our past and our heritage - is preserved at the John F. Germany Public Library for the public to view and use. Hillsborough Remembers is a project designed to create and encourage improved understanding and communication between generations in Hillsborough County through a program of oral history collections that connect younger and older citizens in a positive educational environment. Special oral history projects are included that highlight individuals of community, cultural or historical significance in Hillsborough County. All interviews are part of the library system's collection. To date, five projects are available: A Slice of Life, World War II @ Home & Abroad, Central Avenue Oral History Project, Town 'N Country, and Ellen Green Remembered.
