Accessing the Collection

A pirate ship of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla clears the Lafayette Street Bridge. The annual Gasparilla celebration is a staged invasion of Tampa, and salutes buccaneer José Gaspar. To this day, Tampa residents and visitors don costumes during these festivities. The Tampa Bay Hotel (now the University of Tampa) can be seen at left. (658/V322(F132))

Photographs in the Burgert Brothers Photographic Archives are 8" x 10", black & white. The library's online catalog provides descriptive access to the images currently available to the library customers. Online access to most of the collection is available by using the library catalog. When searching the catalog, select Quick Search and type significant keywords, for example: hotel, or Maas, or Bayshore. Using the Limits, under Format - choose Burgert Brothers Photographs.
