Cooperation among libraries offers you expanded resource sharing. In 1999, the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative was formed to provide integrated library service to all residents of Hillsborough County.
Mission
The Cooperative promotes lifelong learning, an informed citizenry, individual intellectual freedom, enhanced quality of life, and broadened horizons for all residents of Hillsborough County through a network of free libraries with open access, a community focus, welcoming environments, a broad range of relevant materials in a variety of formats, and highly qualified, customer-focused employees.
Members
Twenty-seven libraries countywide are in the Cooperative, including the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System, Temple Terrace Public Library, and Bruton Memorial Library in Plant City. These libraries serve over 1 million citizens, seven days a week.
Benefits
Cooperative members share access to HORIZON, the online catalog and circulation system, which makes borrowing materials between libraries easier. Library customers can borrow and return materials at any public library in Hillsborough County.
